Whew these last few weeks have been a whirlwind. As I juggle transitioning into the realm of blogging and keeping up with my actual full-time job doing research, I’m continually finding that there is still a ton to learn, but I love that. If there is anything I enjoy most it’s probably learning. So far, I’ve found blogging to be extremely enjoyable and oddly relaxing. However, I wanted to touch on some of the things that I wasn’t aware of going into this. For instance starting your own brand/company/channel/blog takes time. I’ll say it again for anyone who might’ve missed that… it takes time. The key, as with anything in life, is to be patient. There’s a great deal of back-end work that is often overlooked when creating a blog. From late-night concept/brainstorming meetings with yourself, to networking with collaborators and answering emails, to designing and branding your own website. One of the most important things though is to stay true to yourself and the goals that you want to accomplish through your blogging and stick with it! As for me, I have a great support system of family and friends that strongly encouraged and support my blogging endeavors (I honestly wouldn’t have done this without them). I wanted to find a way to commemorate the momentous occasion of my website and channels going live so I decided to have a mini-photoshoot in my newly decorated home office/creating studio (check out the photos below 👇🏽). I’ll be spending a lot of time in my office so you’ll probably be seeing it quite often. I plan on doing an office tour soon so be on the lookout for that also 👀.
